Messageboard Trek: MoonShadus was born on a messageboard dedicated to playing fantasy StarTrek. Prior to that, I have used MoonShadow, but apparently there were too many others who had heard the song by Cat Stevens. I couldn't even get any of a variety of different spellings, until I came upon MoonShadus. Moon was part Vulcan and was initially recruited as an ensign to engineering aboard the USS Sitting Duck under Captain Scotty. The captain, however, was not exactly Starfleet's finest and often neglected his crew, leaving his First Officer to handle most of the running the the ship and her crew. The Admirals that he served under were not much different and often violated their own rules. I eventually joined a band of other disenchanted crewmembers, and under the leadership of First Officer Rokanna, we mutinied during an attempt the Admirals made to capture another vessel from an innocent, though banished Captain. We eventually took three ships and several runabouts and colonized our own system, christened Rho'vania. There we built a more refined governance more closely affiliated with the Starfleet we know and love.

EverQuest: Many of my friends were involved in the EverQuest Beta testing phase, and I was lucky enough to get an early preview. I was so excited about it, that we pre-ordered our two copies before it was released. We played for about two years on the Xegony server and formed a great guild, The Elven Nation. MoonShadus was an Elven Wizard, Jeweler, and a Guild Officer to the Elven Nation. He and his Guildmates ranged across the the three primary continents, in Kunark, and later in Velious before he retired.

Dark Ages of Camelot: In DAoC Moon was an Elven Wizard specializing in Evocation. Many of our Guildmates from The Elven Nation populated different servers and in different realms, so the Guild never fully coalesced in this world. Moon joined Greyhawk, a former EQ Guildmate and long time friend in Hibernia on an RPG server, and formed the The Rising Storm guild.

Cities of Heroes: In CoH, moon focused on being a Mystic. I really enjoyed some of the story lines, but the constant level grinding was annoying. I actually found it more entertaining to play with the costume/character design than to play the game. That's when I realized this SuperHero thing wasn't for me and I left the game about the time City of Villans came out. I must admit that I did get some enjoyment out of flying high in the sky and nuking my enemies from low orbit. But that wasn't enough of a thrill to keep me in the game.

World of WarCraft Online: In World of WarCraft, Moon was a Human Mage with talents in Fire and Arcane. Usually Moon is always an Elf, but initially Elves couldn't be Mages in this world, so he has become one of the round-ears instead. Moon joined many of his EQ Guildmates on the Feathermoon server under the Anthem banner. At present, Moon is capped at level 70, but word is out that an upcoming expansion may raise that cap to 80 (it was recently raised to 70 from 60). This is the first game since EQ1 that I really like. there is a LOT of story content, large areas to hunt, and you can have just as much fun hunting in groups with friends as you can hunting solo.
